Inspiring isn’t about being perfect, polished, or planned. It’s about being lit up—by purpose, by curiosity, by truth—and letting that light ripple outward. In the ADHD terrain, where we often feel like we’re too much or not enough, the idea that we might inspire others can feel surprising… even uncomfortable. But it’s real. And it’s powerful.

ADHDers often inspire because of our intensity, our honesty, our deep feeling, our creativity. Not despite our struggles—but through them. We live life out loud, even when we stumble. We keep showing up when the path disappears. We build things from scattered brilliance. That matters.

Living this value means embracing your own aliveness, not waiting until you’ve “got it together.” It’s recognising that authenticity is contagious. When you say the hard thing, pursue the wild dream, or offer real encouragement—you awaken others. You make it easier for them to live with heart, too.

And inspiration flows both ways. We are lifted by those who dare, who speak truth, who stumble and stand up again. It’s not about admiration. It’s about invitation: Come alive. Risk being seen. Keep going.

Trained in Oxford and currently based in Brisbane, Australia, he serves as Director of Adult Mental Health at Princess Alexandra Hospital.
